Fix it yourself! Adjusting hems, attaching buttons & co.
Beginner Class

In this course you will learn how to use the sewing machine safely in 3 hours and complete a beginner's project (storage bag or cosmetic bag) and together we will repair/adjust 1-2 pieces of clothing items you bring along (e.g. sew on buttons, shortening hems, fixing broken seams, etc.). All sewing tools and fabrics required for this will be made available to you and  are included in the class price. You are also welcome to use your own sewing machine.

Course Content

  • Basic functions of a sewing machine

  • Understanding of simple sewing patterns

  • Cutting fabric using simple sewing patterns

  • Sewing a storage bag or cosmetic bag and fixing/adjusting of 1-2 items of yours 

  • Basic sewing techniques (overturning, topstitching, raw edge trimming) 

  • Tips on choosing the right fabric for beginner projects

  • Tips for buying a sewing machine

  • Exciting insights behind the scenes of the fashion industry

Required Skills

  • No sewing skills required

  • Children must be 8 years+ old and confident in handling scissors

  • Sewing machines (Brother Innovis i10a)

  • Iron

  • All sewing supplies (Needles. Scissors, Yarn etc.)

  • A curated selection of fabrics 

  • Sewing patterns

  • 3 hours including breaks as required

Price

  • 4-5 people: 80€/ Person (incl. fabrics & sewing machines) + potential travel fee

  • 2-3 people: 100€/ Person (incl. fabrics & sewing machines) + potential travel fee

  • Private class: 180€ (incl. fabrics & sewing machines) + potential travel fee

Important information about payment & cancellation

  • The full course fee is due 14 days before the start of the class or 2 days after the class date confirmation for short-term bookings

  • Up to 14 days before the start of the class, rescheduling to another date is possible and free of charge

  • A rebooking/cancellation fee of 50% of the total price is due up to 7 days of cancellation before the class begins

  • For cancellations less than 48 hours before the start of the class, a rebooking/cancellation is no longer possible. In this case, the course expires. However, you are welcome to forward the class date to someone else. In this case please contact me.
